Dick van der Velde will stop his duties as deputy for the Province of Zeeland on February 6, 2026.
Van der Velde announced his departure today. “There are several reasons for this departure. The main reason is the upcoming period. A new cabinet will be formed and municipal elections will take place in the spring. So it will be a period of many introductions, and I think it is good if a successor does that. That successor can immediately invest in his or her network. I will turn 67 in December and I now think it is better to hand over the baton in February. But until then, I will of course continue to fully commit myself to my dossiers.”
In this podcast Dick van der Velde further explains his departure.
