This weekend maintenance work will take place on the Zeeland Bridge. The Zeeland Bridge will be closed to road traffic from Friday, March 13 at 8:00 PM until Saturday, March 14 at 6:00 AM. On Saturday, one lane will be available for road traffic from 6:00 AM to 11:59 PM. The maintenance work will be completed on Sunday, March 15, and the Zeeland Bridge will be fully open to traffic again.
Disruption
Traffic will experience disruption as vehicles must alternate passing the work zone. Cyclists can continue to use the bike path. Emergency services can cross the Zeeland Bridge in case of emergencies.
During the closure, traffic is advised to choose an alternative route. Information boards will be placed near the Zeeland Bridge and on the access roads, and a detour route will be indicated via the Storm Surge Barrier.
Bascule Bridge Investigation
The closure is used to investigate damage developments of the bascule bridge. This helps to properly carry out the maintenance work in autumn 2026 and to keep implementation risks low.
