On Thursday, October 23, 2025, the Environmental Day Canal Zone will take place in Sluiskil. The aim of this day is to introduce companies, governments, environmental services, and residents of the Canal Zone.
Companies, environmental services, and governments will show how they work on the environmental quality of the Canal Zone in community center t Meulengat. There will be various activities from 14:30 to 19:00 in and around t Meulengat, including:
- Fun experiments with smell and sound
- Guided tours to the air quality measurement station in Sluiskil
- Stands from various companies including Heros and Ovet
- Bus tour at Dow
- Museum Sluiskil opens its doors; here the history of this village at the canal comes to life
- Award ceremony for students of Het Mozaïek for the best coloring pages and solar-powered cars
- Fries stand and bouncy castles
- Sun train
