Minister of VRO Mona Keijzer and deputy Anne Koning have signed agreements on spatial planning in the Spatial Arrangement. The agreements are important because there are many topics in South Holland that require space, but only limited space is available. The State makes such agreements with every province.
The State and province will work together to use the available space even better. This includes creating favorable housing conditions, using space for work more efficiently, smartly bundling thematic investment agendas, and ensuring good nature and water connections to our cities and villages.
It will always remain the case that not everything is possible within the available space. Sometimes difficult choices will have to be made. The province and the State will therefore work together to do this in a clear and understandable manner.
Deputy Koning is pleased but would have liked to go further: “This Spatial Arrangement is truly an important step that we have worked hard for. We hope that we can go even further with the national government and make agreements aimed at realization, such as on investments in roads, green spaces, and housing.”
The agreements of the Spatial Arrangement will be further elaborated in the coming period and annually updated.
