From April 8 to July 8, 2025, you can visit the exhibition Dreams of Freedom in the provincial house in The Hague.
The impressive exhibition includes letters written during World War II. Letters that were often a sign of life and affection between loved ones and dear ones who could not be together. From soldiers and those who stayed at home.
They contain words full of hope, fear, love, and longing, captured in times of uncertainty. Sometimes hastily scribbled on a torn piece of paper, but very often carefully formulated.
Freedom may seem obvious, but it is not. A society without war, where human rights are respected and where we take care of each other, is of immeasurable value.
The exhibition, which is part of the 80 Years of Freedom program of the Province of South Holland, is free to access during office hours. Address: Zuid-Hollandlaan 1, The Hague.
