With the celebration of 25 years of Bentwoud, the event terrain at parking lot West was officially opened. During the Day of Bentwoud on Saturday, June 28, young and old could get acquainted with this beautiful recreation area and enjoy nature and everything it has to offer.
The brightly colored flags of the event terrain were already visible from afar on Saturday. Just like all the red hats of the children (and adults!) walking the Gnome Path, one of the regular features in Bentwoud that attracts many visitors every year. And there was even more to experience at the festival organized by the Province of South Holland and Staatsbosbeheer.
Excursions with the forest ranger, a wild picking walk, lectures on birds of prey, night butterflies, and bees, catching and studying water creatures with NatuurWijs, and building a birdhouse or insect hotel. For the real daredevil, there was a climbing wall of 7 meters high, and a round could be ridden on the mountain bike course. A bit further from the event terrain, model airplanes could be flown at the Gouda Model Flying Club, and a free golf clinic could be attended at Golf Club Bentwoud.
Signing
With all these and more activities, the owners of the area, the Province of South Holland and Staatsbosbeheer, showed the growth that Bentwoud has undergone in the past 25 years. And what facilities and amenities are now available in the recreation area. Together with the Users Platform Bentwoud, efforts are being made to create an area that is as well tailored to the wishes of the users as possible, within the established development perspective. With the signing of the renewed cooperation agreements, deputy Anne Koning, on behalf of the Administrative Consultation, and the chairman of the Users Platform, Frank van Aken, sealed the collaboration.
Photos
During the Day of Bentwoud, visitors could take pictures in the photobooth, and a professional photographer took beautiful photos that are a great representation of the day. These photos can be seen on the special website of the Day of Bentwoud (opens in a new window).
