The new edition of the Startup in Residence Intergov program (SiR Intergov) is now open! Thirteen new societal challenges are online, including two from the Province of South Holland. Are you an entrepreneur with an innovative idea that contributes to a smarter, more sustainable, or more social South Holland? Then this is your chance to work together with governments.

About Startup in Residence Intergov

SiR Intergov is a joint initiative of the Province of South Holland and seven other governments. The program connects civil servants with a societal issue to start-ups and other innovative entrepreneurs. Together they work for 5 months on practical and scalable solutions.

Participants gain access to a tailor-made impact program with personal guidance, workshops, and expert sessions. They also gain access to government networks and resources, such as test locations and financial support. At the same time, governments learn to work in a new way, so innovations can take off faster.

Role of the Province of South Holland

The Province of South Holland has been an official partner of SiR Intergov from the start. With this program, the province stimulates innovation within the government and works on solutions for complex societal issues. This edition the province participates with two important challenges:

  • Visualize housing opportunities on roofs. How can we map where housing opportunities are possible on existing roofs of buildings in South Holland?
  • Open call for circular societal initiatives. Social organizations can present existing circular initiatives to further develop and scale up together with the province.

Entrepreneurs can express their interest in participating in the program until Thursday, December 11 at 5:00 PM. From November 10 to 17, SiR Intergov organizes online Q&A sessions. During these sessions, you can speak directly with the SiR Intergov team, ask questions, and learn more about the program or a specific challenge.

European Recognition

SiR Intergov has been nominated on behalf of the Netherlands for the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA). This European award rewards initiatives that promote entrepreneurship and collaboration. The nomination as a national finalist shows that the program is also internationally recognized as an example of effective cooperation between government and entrepreneurs. The final takes place from November 10 to 12 in Denmark.
