New subsidy schemes from April 1: South Holland invests in sports and exercise

From April 1, 2025, new subsidy schemes will open in South Holland to encourage residents to exercise more and make public spaces more accessible. The province of South Holland believes it is important for residents to be healthy and aims to reduce health disparities among people. Through various subsidy schemes, the province wants to encourage people to exercise and move as much as possible, promote outdoor activities, and establish, maintain, and open farmers paths.

The province of South Holland makes the following three subsidies available:

Subsidy for a Movement-Friendly Living Environment 2025

South Holland wants to encourage residents to go outside more and exercise more often. To enthuse people, exercising must also be attractive. Through the subsidy scheme for a Movement-Friendly Living Environment, the province stimulates initiatives that make public spaces more attractive for exercise. Do you want to help residents move more, go outside more often, and stay healthy? Then submit a subsidy application for, for example, the construction of a sports field or play route.

Subsidy for Side Events at Sports Events 2025

Every year, many national and international sports events are organized. And a World Cup or European Championship is the perfect opportunity to organize a side event! A side event is an extra activity, specifically for people who currently exercise and move little. This side event must have a clear link to the major event; for example, a street football tournament due to the European Championship in indoor football. Do you want to organize a side event this year? Then submit an application for the subsidy scheme for Side Events at Sports Events 2025.

Subsidy for Farmers Paths

The province of South Holland believes it is important that people can enjoy walking. The province has a beautiful network of walking routes. Farmers paths, unpaved paths on farmers land, are an important part of this network. Anyone who wants to establish, maintain, or open a farmers path for walkers can apply for the subsidy for Farmers Paths in South Holland.

The mentioned subsidy schemes are open to organizations, associations, and individuals who want to contribute to a healthier and more active province. Check the subsidies on the Subsidy Schemes page.
