Housing corporations can apply for subsidies from the Province of South Holland starting January 2, 2026, to realize housing projects. These subsidies help cover the unprofitable parts of housing projects partially. They can also use subsidies for senior housing projects and timber construction.
Additionally, there are subsidies for hiring experts, promoting flexible housing, and realizing asylum accommodations. All these subsidies are included in the South Holland Housing Subsidy Scheme. Until now, the subsidy scheme was mainly intended for municipalities. For 2026, a total of €24.7 million in subsidies is available.
Flying Brigade and Bottleneck Fund
The Flying Brigade subsidy for hiring knowledge and expertise was already opened earlier for housing corporations. With this subsidy, municipalities and housing corporations can hire an expert themselves, such as an area developer, urban economist, or process manager. Municipalities or residential regions can also apply for subsidies to hire capacity and expertise for drafting a regional housing care vision.
The Bottleneck funds for social rent and middle rent help cover the unprofitable parts of housing projects. For each independent social rental home, municipalities and housing corporations can apply for €6,000. For middle-rent homes, the subsidy is €3,000 or €6,000 per home, depending on the period the home remains in the middle-rent segment.
Applications can be submitted starting January 2.
