The Province of South Holland will hold the Biobased Building Day on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Provincial House in The Hague. Government, market, and knowledge institutions come together to concretely accelerate affordable, future-proof housing construction. The central question is: how do we scale biobased and industrial building systems now?
The key to acceleration
Under the title ‘Biobased Building Power – The key to acceleration’, South Holland shows how 2026 can be a pivotal year for scaling up. Biobased building offers opportunities for faster, cleaner, and more efficient construction, with less CO₂ emissions and higher quality for residents. The province consciously focuses this day on action: from inspiration to concrete next steps and collaboration.
From words to deeds
During the program, regional and national frontrunners share their experiences with scaling, standardization, and chain cooperation. Deputy Meindert Stolk (Economy and Innovation) is one of the speakers, alongside representatives from, among others, the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning, construction companies, housing corporations, and knowledge institutions. Plenary sessions, in-depth workshops, and pitches focus on successful projects, innovative materials, and applicable solutions.
Accelerating together
The Biobased Building Day is explicitly intended as a working day. Participants are invited not only to listen but also to bring in projects, bottlenecks, and ideas themselves. This creates space for new collaborations and acceleration in practice.
Broad collaboration
This day is organized by the Province of South Holland and the Biobased Building Innovators Network, in collaboration with partners such as Building Balance, Cirkelstad, The Green Village, and Built by Nature. Together they work on strengthening the biobased construction economy and realizing the urgent housing task in South Holland.
Registration for the Biobased Building Day is now possible via the event website: Biobased Building Day (opens in new window). The province looks forward to a day full of energy, collaboration, and concrete steps towards future-proof housing construction.
