The Regional Networks for Innovation South Holland (RNIZ) scheme is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. With this subsidy, the province supports collaborations between companies, knowledge institutions, and governments working on innovation and sustainable growth.

The scheme helps networks establish and strengthen their collaborations. This can involve sharing knowledge, attracting new companies, or organizing projects and meetings.

Innovative Collaboration

Over the past 10 years, more than €15 million has been invested through the RNIZ in innovative networks in South Holland. This has laid the foundation for collaboration in sectors that are important for our economy and society, such as the circular economy, health, energy, and smart technology.

Additionally, RNIZ contributes to an attractive business climate. By connecting entrepreneurs, researchers, and governments, an environment is created where new ideas can grow faster and companies are eager to establish themselves. Thus, South Holland becomes not only stronger but also more attractive for talent and investors from both home and abroad.

Highlighted Examples

  • BlueCity – Circular Economy in Practice

BlueCity in Rotterdam is an incubator for entrepreneurs who reuse waste streams. Think of leather made from fruit waste or soap from coffee grounds. Thanks to the RNIZ, this network was able to grow and connect even more companies around the circular economy.
  • Medical Delta – Innovation in Healthcare and Health

Medical Delta connects universities, colleges, healthcare institutions, and companies to collaborate on innovative healthcare solutions. Researchers and companies work together on technology that helps older adults remain healthy and independent longer.

New Round Starting October 1

Starting October 1, 2025, the scheme will reopen. Networks focusing on circular solutions, digital technologies, or high-tech manufacturing can apply for subsidies. This way, the province of South Holland continues to stimulate collaboration and together we ensure an innovative and future-proof region.
