The Netherlands Court of Audit opens its doors for visitors on Saturday, September 13, as part of Open Monument Day 2025. Interested parties can visit our historic building at Lange Voorhout and the newly constructed building designed by architect Aldo van Eyck.
Since 1868, the Netherlands Court of Audit has been located at Lange Voorhout number 8, but the history of the building and the adjacent Kloosterkerk dates back to the Middle Ages. In 1884, the building was expanded with the Grootboekgebouw designed by C.H. Peters. And in 1997, a new building was constructed behind the existing building, designed by Van Eyck.
If you visit, you can follow a designated route with 6 stops, where explanations are provided about specific elements of the building complex. Our doors are open between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and it is not possible to register in advance.
Round of the Rule of Law
On the same day, September 13, the Round of the Rule of Law will also take place. This marks the conclusion of the Week of the Rule of Law, during which institutions such as the Court of Audit, the Council of State, the Supreme Court, and both Houses of Parliament open their doors to visitors to show what they do. At the Netherlands Court of Audit, you can take a seat at our Calculation Table. Here, you can engage in conversation with researchers from the Court of Audit about our work and suggest issues you believe we should investigate.
