4 in 10 people with low income consider their health poor
Of people living below or just above the poverty line, 40 percent say their health is poor. This is reported by Statistics Netherlands (CBS).
Of people living below or just above the poverty line, 40 percent say their health is poor. Among people in households with more money, this is 21 percent. People with low income also more often have a long-term disability. The life expectancy of men with low income is 9 years shorter than those with more to spend. For women, the difference is 7 years. This is reported by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) based on the publication Living in Poverty 2025. People in a poor or nearly poor household say almost twice as often that their health is worse than people in households with more money. Among men in low-income households, 36 percent consider their health poor, compared to 19 percent among men in households with more to spend. For women, this is 44 percent versus 23 percent.
