The price development of crude oil generally has a strong influence on the output prices of the industry. In August, a barrel of crude North Sea Brent oil cost almost 58 euros, about 19 percent less than a year earlier. In July, a barrel of crude North Sea Brent cost over 59 euros, which was about 23 percent less than a year earlier.
Products from the oil industry were 10.4 percent cheaper in August than in August 2024. In July 2025, prices were 12.9 percent lower than a year earlier. Also in the chemical industry, the output price generally correlates with the oil price. The output prices of the chemical industry were 3.7 percent lower in August than a year earlier. In July, prices were 3.6 percent lower year on year.
The output prices of the industry decreased by 0.4 percent in August compared to July. Prices fell on both the foreign and domestic markets by an average of 0.4 percent.
