Retail Sales Increase by 3.8 Percent in September
Retail sales increased by 3.8 percent in September 2025 compared to the previous year, with growth in both food and non-food sectors.
Retail sales increased by 3.8 percent in September 2025 compared to September 2024, according to CBS figures. The sales volume was 1.4 percent higher. The turnover of the non-food sector (including non-store retail trade) grew by 3.7 percent and the turnover of the food sector (shops in food and luxury goods) by 4.1 percent. Online sales were 6 percent higher than a year earlier. The turnover figures have been adjusted for the composition of shopping days in September. On some days of the week, more is sold than on others. Without this calendar correction, retail turnover would have been over 5 percent higher than in September 2024.
