The retail sector recorded a 3.0 percent higher turnover in December 2025 compared to December 2024, reports CBS. The sales volume was 1.5 percent higher. The turnover of the non-food sector (including non-store retail) grew by 1.9 percent and the turnover of the food sector (shops in food and luxury goods) by 5.0 percent. Online sales were over 4 percent higher than a year earlier. With the December figure, the figure for the entire year is also known. In 2025, the retail sector recorded 3.6 percent higher turnover than in 2024.

The turnover figures are corrected for the composition of calendar days in December. On some days of the week, more is sold than on other days. Without this correction, the retail turnover was 4.5 percent higher than in December 2024.
