Since Feyenoords defeat against PSV on Sunday, director Dennis te Kloese has been repeatedly harassed and threatened by phone. His mobile phone number was shared online, resulting in a flood of unpleasant messages and calls. The police have launched an investigation into both the person who shared his number and those who made calls or sent messages.

Arrest for doxing
Investigation into the person who posted the number online led to the 24-year-old man from The Hague who was arrested Thursday morning at his home in The Hague on suspicion of doxing. Publicly sharing someone elses private information, such as home addresses, phone numbers, or workplaces, with the intent to intimidate, harass, or threaten is called doxing and is punishable by law. Doxing is a serious violation of privacy and often has a huge impact on the victim.

Warning SMS
On Wednesday, the police sent an SMS to a large group of people urging them to stop sending messages to Feyenoord director te Kloese. The group consists of dozens of phone numbers that have so far come up in the investigation. New numbers and thus new persons may come into view as the investigation continues.

More arrests
Whether the content of the calls and/or messages is actually punishable is currently being reviewed per message together with the Public Prosecution Service. If the messages prove to be punishable, the police and Public Prosecution Service will consider appropriate follow-up steps per case. Arrests are certainly not excluded.
