Retail sales increased by 3.9 percent in November compared to November 2024, according to CBS figures. The sales volume was 2.6 percent higher. The turnover of the non-food sector (including non-store retail trade) grew by 3.8 percent and the turnover of the food sector (shops in food and luxury goods) by 4.1 percent. Online sales increased by nearly 6 percent compared to a year earlier.

The turnover figures have been adjusted for the composition of calendar days in November. Some days of the week have higher sales than others. Without this correction, retail turnover would have been 1.9 percent higher than in November 2024.

Non-food turnover nearly 4 percent higher

The turnover of non-food (including non-store retail trade) grew by 3.8 percent in November 2025. The volume (turnover adjusted for price changes) was 3.2 percent higher than a year earlier.

Drugstores increased turnover by 8.6 percent compared to the same month a year earlier. The turnover of stores in recreational articles and DIY stores (including kitchens and floors) grew by nearly 5 and over 4 percent respectively. Also, shoe and leather goods stores, furniture and home furnishing stores, and clothing stores recorded higher turnover in November 2025 than in November 2024. The turnover of consumer electronics stores was lower in November 2025 than in the same month a year earlier.

Food turnover over 4 percent higher

Stores in food and luxury goods had a turnover 4.1 percent higher in November 2024. The sales volume was 1.2 percent higher than a year earlier. Supermarket turnover grew by 4.2 percent and specialty stores by 2.9 percent.

Online sales nearly 6 percent higher

In November 2025, online turnover was 5.9 percent higher than in November 2024. Webshops (with main activity internet sales) increased turnover by 6.5 percent compared to the same month a year earlier. The online turnover of stores where internet sales are a secondary activity (multichannelers) was 5 percent higher.

The online turnover of food and drugstores was 11.5 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier. Also, stores in other non-food articles, clothing and fashion stores, and consumer electronics stores recorded higher online turnover than in November 2024.
