Fewer Check-Ins on Weekdays, More on Weekends
This article discusses how check-in behavior in public transport has changed in 2025.
In the first half of 2025, there were more check-ins on Saturdays and Sundays on average than in the same period of 2024 and 2019. On weekdays, only on Mondays was the average number of check-ins higher than in 2024 (+1.7 percent). On Fridays, the number of check-ins decreased the most compared to the first half of 2024 (-2.7 percent).
In the first half of 2025, the most check-ins on weekends occurred between 1 PM and 6 PM on average. With an average of 185 thousand check-ins, the most check-ins occurred between 1 PM and 2 PM. This is 1.7 percent more than in the first half of 2024 and 12.9 percent more than in the same period of 2019.
Between 5 PM and 6 PM, there were on average nearly 177 thousand check-ins on weekends in the first half of 2025. This is 2.5 percent more than in the first half of 2024 and 16.8 percent more than in the first half of 2019.
