Export grows by nearly 5 percent in November

CBS reports that exports grew by nearly 5 percent in November compared to last year, mainly due to increased transport equipment and machinery.

The volume (working day adjusted) of goods exports was 4.7 percent larger in November than in November 2024, reports Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Companies mainly exported more transport equipment and machinery. The volume of goods imports was 5.5 percent larger in November than in November 2024. Mainly more raw materials and transport equipment were imported.

Conditions for export in January approximately as unfavorable as in November

CBS also publishes monthly about the conditions for export in the export radar. The conditions are largely determined by developments in the main sales markets for Dutch exports and by the development of the Dutch competitive position. The indicators in the radar correlate well with exports, but an improvement in conditions does not necessarily mean higher export growth.

In the CBS Export Radar of January, the conditions for export were approximately as unfavorable as in the radar of November. The year-on-year contraction of German industrial production turned into growth, but the development of real exchange rates was less favorable.
