Export Grows by Over 5 Percent in January

The volume (working day adjusted) of goods exports was 5.1% larger in January 2025 than in January 2024, according to CBS. This increase is mainly due to higher exports of machinery, chemical and pharmaceutical products, food and luxury goods, and electrical equipment. The volume of goods imports was 3.6% larger in January 2025 than in January 2024, with more chemical and pharmaceutical products, electrical equipment, and transport equipment being imported.

In the CBS Export Radar of March, export conditions were less unfavorable than in the radar of January.

In the CBS Export Radar of March, the conditions for exports were less unfavorable than in the radar of January. This is mainly due to more favorable developments in real exchange rates and less negative sentiment among producers in Germany and the Eurozone.

The export of goods accounts for nearly three-quarters of total exports. CBS does not report on the export of services on a monthly basis. CBS publishes information on total exports on a quarterly and annual basis. The figures in this report are preliminary and may be revised.
