Municipalities expect to receive €14.4 billion from taxes this year. This is 8.0 percent more than was budgeted for 2024. This increase is slightly less than last year, when the estimated tax revenues were 8.5 percent higher than in 2023. The smaller increase is mainly due to the exceptionally strong rise in estimated revenues from administrative fees (fees for travel documents, drivers licenses, and marriages) in 2024.
