Half of Adults Dissatisfied with Housing Supply in the Region
This article discusses the dissatisfaction of adults with the housing supply in their region.
Among adults aged 18 and older, 49 percent are dissatisfied with the housing supply in their region. Moreover, nearly 40 percent expect the housing supply to worsen in the coming years. This is particularly the case in North Holland and Utrecht. This is reported by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) based on the Experiences 2024 study.
Among adults aged 18 and older, 24 percent are satisfied or very satisfied with the housing supply in their region. Satisfaction with the supply of other facilities is much higher. For example, 84 percent are satisfied with the supply of sports facilities, and 82 percent with that of restaurants and cafes.

Zeeland Residents Less Positive About Other Facilities
Although residents of Zeeland are somewhat more satisfied with the housing supply in their region, they are less positive about the supply of other facilities – such as hospitals, culture, and schools. This is especially true for public transport: 22 percent of Zeeland residents are satisfied with this. In other provinces, that is 49 to 75 percent.
Residents of Zeeland also relatively often expect a deterioration of the supply of other facilities in their region. For example, nearly half believe that the supply of public transport will decline in the coming years; about 35 percent expect this for hospitals and general practitioners, and over 20 percent expect a deterioration in the supply of schools.
