Inflation in December 2025 was 2.8 percent in the preliminary estimate, reports CBS. This estimate is based on incomplete source data. In November, inflation was 2.9 percent.

Inflation is measured monthly as the development of the consumer price index (CPI) compared to the same month in the previous year. The CPI also provides insight into price developments compared to the previous month. Consumer prices in December were on average almost at the same level as in November.

With the December figure, inflation for 2025 can also be estimated. In the preliminary estimate, consumer goods and services were 3.3 percent more expensive than in 2024.

The regular CPI figures for December and 2025 will be published on January 13.
