Inflation in January 2026 was 2.4 percent according to the quick estimate, reports CBS. This estimate is based on incomplete source data. In December 2025, inflation was 2.8 percent.

Inflation is measured monthly as the development of the consumer price index (CPI) compared to the same month in the previous year. The CPI also provides insight into price developments compared to the previous month. In the quick estimate, consumer prices fell by 0.7 percent in January compared to December.
