The quick estimate indicated an inflation rate of 3.3 percent in January, reports CBS. This estimate is based on incomplete source data. In December, inflation was 4.1 percent.

Inflation is measured every month as the development of the consumer price index (CPI) compared to the same month in the previous year. The CPI also provides insight into price developments compared to a month earlier. In the quick estimate, consumer prices fell by 0.3 percent in January 2025 compared to December 2024.

The regular CPI figures for January will be published on February 13.
