Investments grow by nearly 3 percent in September

In September 2025, investments in tangible fixed assets grew by nearly 3 percent compared to a year earlier, especially in airplanes, buildings, machinery, and infrastructure.

In September 2025, the volume of investments in tangible fixed assets was 2.7 percent higher than a year earlier, reports Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Most investments were made in airplanes, buildings, machinery (including defense equipment), and infrastructure. However, investments in other road transport (trucks, trailers, vans, etc.) decreased again.

The figures are not corrected for working days. September 2025 has one more working day than September 2024. In the CBS Investment Radar of November, the conditions for investments were less unfavorable than in the radar of September.

Investment conditions less unfavorable in November

The CBS publishes monthly reports on the conditions for investments in the Investment Radar. Investments are related to the situation in sales markets and financial markets. The indicators of the radar correlate well with investments in fixed assets, but an improvement in conditions does not necessarily mean higher growth or smaller decline in investments.

In the CBS Investment Radar of November, the conditions for investments were less unfavorable than in the radar of September. This is mainly due to a larger year-on-year increase in stock prices and less negative consumer sentiment.
