Investments Shrink by Nearly 4 Percent in July

In July 2025, the volume of investments in tangible fixed assets was 3.9 percent smaller than a year earlier, reports Statistics Netherlands (CBS). There was particularly less investment in buildings and other road transport (trucks, trailers, vans, etc.) than a year earlier.

The figures are not adjusted for working days. July 2025 has the same number of working days as July 2024. In the CBS Investment Radar of September, the conditions for investments were less unfavorable than in the radar of July.

Conditions for Investments in September Less Unfavorable

The CBS publishes monthly about the conditions for investments in the investment radar. Investments are related to the situation in the sales markets and the situation in the financial markets. The indicators of the radar correlate quite well with investments in fixed assets, but an improvement in conditions does not necessarily mean greater growth or less shrinkage of investments.

In the CBS Investment Radar of September, the conditions for investments were less unfavorable than in the radar of July. This is mainly due to the year-on-year increase in goods exports being larger.
