In the first half of 2025, more than 9.1 thousand new rental homes from housing corporations were added. This is more than in the first half of 2024, when more than 8.2 thousand corporate new homes were delivered. This is evident from new figures from Statistics Netherlands (CBS) regarding new homes, a study conducted at the request of the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning.

In total, nearly 31.6 thousand new homes were added to the housing stock in the first half of 2025. This is the lowest number of new homes in a half year since 2018. Usually, more new homes are delivered in the second half of the year than in the first half. Of the new homes in the first half of 2025, more than 22.1 thousand new homes have a different owner than a housing corporation. This means that these homes are either owner-occupied or private rental homes. For nearly 300 new homes, the owner is still unknown.

The 9.1 thousand corporation homes account for 29 percent of all new homes in the first half of the year. This is more than in the first half of 2024, when it was 25 percent. The share of 29 percent is the largest share in total new construction of homes since the start of the measurement in 2020.
