Dutch museums attracted nearly 32 million visits in 2024, the same as the previous year. This is 2 million fewer than in the pre-corona year 2019. Especially people aged 65 and over visit museums less often. This is reported by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) based on new figures.

All age groups saw fewer museum visits, but the decline was greatest among those aged 65 and over. In 2024, there were 7.1 million museum visits by this group. That was 19 percent fewer visits than in 2019 (8.8 million). In the same period, the number of people aged 65 and over actually increased by 11 percent.
