Hospitality turnover increased by 3.3 percent in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2024, reports CBS. Accommodation turnover was 0.7 percent higher, and turnover of food and beverage establishments was 4.6 percent higher. The growth in hospitality turnover in the third quarter was lower than the previous quarter, when the turnover increase was 5.5 percent.

Accommodation providers turnover 0.7 percent higher

In the third quarter of 2025, the turnover of accommodation providers, including hotels and holiday parks, was 0.7 percent higher than a year earlier. Hotels generated 1.6 percent more turnover. The turnover of other accommodation providers, including campsites and holiday parks, shrank by 1 percent.

Food and beverage establishments generate 4.6 percent more turnover

Food and beverage establishments generated 4.6 percent more turnover in the third quarter than a year earlier. Canteens and catering realized the largest turnover increase in the hospitality branches with 6.4 percent. Fast food restaurants grew by 5.4 percent. Restaurants generated 4.6 percent more turnover and cafés recorded 1 percent more turnover than in the third quarter of 2024.

Hospitality entrepreneurs less negative in fourth quarter

Almost 4 weeks ago, CBS published about the business confidence of Dutch sectors in the fourth quarter of 2025. Business confidence remained about as negative as in the third quarter. In hospitality, confidence improved the most, but remained negative.

Business confidence in hospitality rose from -13.2 in the third quarter of 2025 to -8.4 in the fourth quarter of 2025. Hospitality entrepreneurs were mainly less negative about the economic climate in the coming three months.
