An existing owner-occupied home in the Netherlands was on average 8.6 percent more expensive in 2025 than in 2024. In Drenthe, the price increase was the largest at 11.1 percent. Furthermore, the number of housing transactions in the Netherlands was 15.6 percent higher than in 2024. The increase in the number of sold apartments was the largest at 24.6 percent. This is evident from research into the price development of existing private owner-occupied homes in the Netherlands by CBS and the Land Registry.

The price increase of an existing home in 2025 was approximately equal to the increase in 2024 (8.7 percent). As in 2024, the number of homes that changed owners in the Netherlands was higher than the previous year. In 2025, the number of housing transactions amounted to 238,695. That is 15.6 percent more than a year earlier. Only in 2017 was the number of transactions higher (241,860).
