Especially the share of people working on Saturdays is lower. In 2024, 14 percent of workers mostly or always worked on Saturdays, in 2021 this was 16 percent. Work on Sundays or in the evening decreased less strongly. The share of night work remained the same.

Workers in the occupational classes of ICT professions and business economic and administrative professions say least often that they work outside office hours; this applies to at most 10 percent of them. In the service professions, 52 percent of workers mostly or always work in the evening, night, or on weekends.
In the top ten occupational groups in which most workers say they mostly or always work outside office hours, there are many service professions, such as kitchen helpers and cooks. Kitchen helpers and livestock farmers work most often outside office hours of all occupational groups: respectively 81 and 79 percent. Compared to other professions, kitchen helpers work a lot in the evening, while livestock farmers work relatively much on Saturdays and Sundays.
