For eggs, the largest share of sales among all product groups is organic. In the first half of 2025, this was 17.3 percent. Coffee and tea are in second place with 6.5 percent, followed by potatoes, vegetables, and fruits with 5.5 percent.
Beverages have the lowest share of organic sales (1.6 percent).
Compared to the first half of 2024, the share of organic sales is higher for almost all product categories. Only for shelf-stable products is it slightly lower.
For potatoes, vegetables, and fruits, the share increased the most: from 4.7 to 5.5 percent. This is followed by fish (from 2.5 to 3.2 percent) and coffee and tea (from 5.9 to 6.5 percent).
In a comparison between 2018 and 2024, the share of organic sales for eggs increased the most, from 13.2 to 17.4 percent. Coffee and tea follow in second place (from 3.7 to 6.0 percent). Organic fish has also seen the largest growth over the years.
However, for shelf-stable products, meat, and dairy, the share of organic sales in 2024 is smaller than in 2018. The sales of organic shelf-stable products decreased from 3.0 to 2.5 percent, organic meat from 3.0 to 2.6 percent, and dairy from 4.3 to 4.0 percent.
