In the first half of 2025, 3.5 percent of food spending in Dutch supermarkets went to products with an organic label (820 million euros). In the period from 2018 to 2024, this was an average of 3.0 percent. The share of organic sales is largest for eggs, followed by coffee and tea. This is reported by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) based on the BioMarktMeter and the Monitor Sustainable Food, conducted in collaboration with Wageningen Social & Economic Research (WSER).

In the first half of 2024, the sales of organic products was still 3.2 percent. The sales of organic potatoes, vegetables, and fruits have increased the most.
