Producers are again more positive in October about expected business activity in the coming three months. They are also less negative about stocks of finished products and their order portfolio.
One sub-indicator is positive. The number of producers expecting their production to increase in the next three months is greater than the number expecting a decrease. The other two sub-indicators of producer confidence are negative. The number of producers who consider the order position large is smaller than the number who find the order portfolio small, considering the time of year. The number of producers who consider the stock of finished products small is smaller than the number who find the stocks large.
In more than half of the underlying sectors, producer confidence improved in October. Producers in other industries (e.g., repair and installation of machines and furniture industry) are the most positive, while manufacturers in the electrical and machinery industries are the most negative.
The utilization of machines and installations in the industry at the start of the fourth quarter of 2025 was 77.2 percent. This is lower than a quarter earlier (77.7 percent), but still slightly higher than a year earlier (77.1).
The calendar-adjusted production of the Dutch industry in August was at the same level as in August 2024. Corrected for seasonal and calendar effects, production increased by 1.7 percent in August compared to July.
Great! Unfortunately, it is not free to keep Openrijk running. A cup of coffee would therefore be greatly appreciated :) Thank you!
