In the first three quarters of 2024, the export value of steel to the United States was 27 percent higher than a year earlier. This raises the US to third place among the most important export destinations for Dutch steel, with a share of 9 percent. In those three quarters, the Netherlands exported 0.7 billion euros worth of steel to the US, according to CBS.

In the first three quarters of 2024, the Netherlands exported a total of 7.4 billion euros worth of steel. This mainly concerns rolled flat products of iron and steel (64 percent). For the US, this is 91 percent. The US is the third export destination for these products after Germany and Belgium, accounting for 13 percent of the export value.
