The gross profit before tax of non-financial companies amounted to 89.7 billion euros in the second quarter of 2025. This is 7.2 billion euros more than in the second quarter of 2024. The increase is mainly due to the operational profit being higher than a year earlier. This is reported by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) based on new, preliminary figures.

The consolidated gross profit before tax can be split into the operational profit, the profits of foreign subsidiaries, and the other profit.

The operational profit (including non-production-related subsidies) amounted to 67.2 billion euros in the second quarter of 2025. This is 5.2 billion euros more than in the second quarter of 2024. Especially the profit from the travel sector and wholesale was larger. Additionally, the profit from foreign subsidiaries was 2.7 billion euros higher than a year earlier, while the other profit was 0.7 billion euros smaller.
