The court sentenced a 63-year-old man from the municipality of Oost Gelre to 24 months in prison, 12 months suspended, for months of sexual misconduct with an 18-year-old woman under his care. Additionally, a five-year professional ban was imposed. 

Sexual acts by abuse of his position

The man worked as a mobile caregiver on his farm. There, he supervised residents of apartments near the farm. For four months, he performed sexual acts almost daily with the 18-year-old woman who lived there. 

The court holds the man severely accountable for not considering the vulnerable condition of the young woman. As a caregiver, he behaved very unprofessionally and abused his position. Therefore, a prison sentence and a professional ban are appropriate. This means the man cannot practice his profession as a mobile caregiver for five years.
