The man from Apeldoorn transported 57 kilograms of cocaine on June 26, 2025, in his car at the request of others from Rotterdam to Ede. He received the boxes of cocaine from a 37-year-old man from Rotterdam at a parking lot. Subsequently, the man from Apeldoorn had to deliver the drugs to an address in Ede.
Millions street value
The 37-year-old man from Rotterdam also transported a total of 1,587 kilograms of cocaine on July 8, 2025, together with two fellow residents - aged 55 and 22 - divided over two vans. The cocaine had a street value of about 20 million euros. The cocaine packages were stored in a cold storage room in a warehouse in Lelystad. The trio loaded the packages there and then drove back together to a storage unit in Gorinchem. The storage unit was rented by the 55-year-old man and was used as a stash spot. The 37-year-old man worked for others higher up in the drug circuit and had enlisted the 22-year-old man for the heavy lifting.
International trade
Given the large quantity, the cocaine was intended for further distribution and large-scale (international) trade. Through their actions, the four men have made a significant contribution to maintaining the criminal drug circuit. Hard drugs pose a serious threat to public health. The cocaine trade generates a lot of money, and the entire chain of production, transport, and sale is often associated with undermining crime. The use of violence is often not shunned. The men were also motivated by their own financial gain.
Different roles
Each man had his own role in the whole. Therefore, the court imposes different prison sentences. The court also takes their personal circumstances into account. The 37-year-old man receives the highest sentence with 7 years imprisonment. The 55-year-old man must serve 5 years in prison. The 22-year-old man receives 4 years imprisonment, of which 1 year is suspended. His suspended sentence comes with special conditions, such as probation supervision. The 54-year-old man is sentenced to 30 months in prison, of which 6 months are suspended.
