Theinnovative project VoorRecht Judiciary was named Best Government Innovation of the Year last night at the 2025 Government Awards.VoorRecht Judiciary received the prize because the jury believes it is‘a brilliant innovation that really works, inspires, and has great publicadded value.’ The other finalists were the Data Accounting of the Ministryof Justice and Security and Smart Beach Network of the municipality of The Hague.

The initiative started to help solve conflicts and problems within VVEs, but now also forbuilding and renovation and eventually for other legal areas. Theservice of VoorRecht Judiciary is currently available at thecourts of Amsterdam, North Holland, and East Brabant and is expectedto be expanded to other courts in the country.
Further Development
The Council for the Judiciary had already decided to take over the funding of this project from the Ministry of Justice and Security, so that VoorRecht Judiciary can further develop itself in the coming years. This contributes to the ambition of the Judiciary to make access to justice as simple as possible and to improve it where possible.
