On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, our president Selinde Bokx was presented with a special chairmans gavel by Arnhems mayor Ahmed Marcouch. This marked the official opening of neighborhood jurisdiction Arnhem.
Selinde: I am very happy and proud that we can officially open the neighborhood jurisdiction today. In 2023, we started making the first contacts. To administer justice in the neighborhood, where the citizen is central instead of only the legal side of his or her problems. And that has succeeded thanks to all parties involved, especially the members of the steering group: the municipality, the Public Prosecution Service, the police, and the legal profession. But also all other stakeholders, such as Rijnstad, debt counseling, probation services, and social district teams.
Mayor Marcouch emphasized this: With the arrival of neighborhood jurisdiction at the Symfonie district center in the Broek, justice is not only physically accessible and nearby, but especially in the form of justice and perspective for the people in this neighborhood who sometimes really need it.
