Two Faces

November had two faces this year. The first half of the month was often sunny, dry, and especially mild with maximum temperatures between 14 and 18°C. The second half became cold, with frost and fog banks. On 22 November, the lowest temperature of the month was recorded in Eelde: -5.4°C. There were many showers, sometimes with hail, thunderstorms, and wet snow; some places even saw a brief white covering. The autumn ended gloomy, drizzly, and mild.

On 16 November, the temperature dropped below freezing for the first time this autumn (and this winter half-year). November ended with 8 frost days in De Bilt, three more than normal. The northwest had fewer frost days, and Vlissingen did not experience any frost at all.

Quite Wet

Eindhoven was the driest automatic KNMI station with 158 millimeters.
