His Majesty the King visits Royal Zeelandia Group in Zierikzee on the occasion of its 125th anniversary. The family business is an internationally operating producer of ingredients for bread and pastry bakeries.
The King visits the largest production site of Zeelandia located in Zierikzee. He tours the factory and speaks with employees about the future, the innovative strength of Zeelandia, and the role the company plays in the international bakery sector. Zeelandia works closely with bakeries and focuses on changing needs in the global market. The King also visits the exhibition 125 years of Zeelandia, which highlights the rich history of the company, with deep roots in the Zeeland community.
Since its founding in 1900 by Herman Johan Doeleman, Zeelandia has been an independent family business, now employing over 3,000 staff. The company started with a recipe for rusks and grew into an international enterprise, active in more than 100 countries. In 1950, it was granted the Royal designation. Queen Beatrix visited the production site of Zeelandia in 1993.
