His Majesty the King visited the NATO Summit Taskforce 2025 at the World Forum in The Hague on Monday afternoon, June 23. The Taskforce, established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is responsible for organizing the NATO Summit 2025 together with NATO.
The Netherlands is the host country for the NATO Summit at the World Forum in The Hague on June 24 and 25. This is the first time the Netherlands is hosting a NATO summit. During the summit, NATO will make decisions that are important for transatlantic peace and security. A total of over eight thousand people will attend the summit, including six thousand representatives from various countries and around two thousand national and international journalists. The Taskforce has worked for nearly two years to prepare for the summit.
The King received a tour of the World Forum where he visited the meeting room where the North Atlantic Council meets and got an impression of the leaders lounge and the bilateral meeting spaces. He also spoke with members of the Taskforce about their work leading up to the summit. The visit concluded with a conversation with accreditation and registration staff, many of whom are volunteering.
