His Majesty the King and Her Royal Highness the Princess of Orange will be present on the morning of Thursday, November 20, at a Special United Assembly of the First and Second Chambers in the Great Church in The Hague. On November 20, it will be exactly eighty years since the parliament first convened jointly after World War II.

During the Special United Assembly, there will be reflections on the end of the war and the significance of freedom in a time of conflict and polarization. Passing on the values of freedom and the rule of law to future generations is also a theme of the assembly.

At various times and places in the Netherlands, 80 years of freedom have been celebrated and commemorated. Members of the Royal House have attended various celebrations and commemorations during the jubilee year. They thereby support the commitment to values such as freedom, justice, and democracy, which are never self-evident.
