Her Majesty Queen Máxima will visit Strong Neighborhood Connectors in Roermond on Thursday afternoon, October 2. They are participants in the program of the same name from the Oranje Fonds, where active neighborhood residents work to connect initiatives, organizations, and residents from the same neighborhood. The visit will take place at Youth Center Gotcha.
Queen Máxima will speak with staff from the welfare partner Vijf and active neighborhood residents who are part of the program about what the approach means for their work in the neighborhood. They will reflect on what they have already achieved together and what wishes they still have for the neighborhood.
Strong Neighborhood Connectors is a three-year program of the Oranje Fonds, involving sixteen social organizations. The organizations provide tools to better utilize the existing talent in the neighborhood and encourage residents to translate signals from the neighborhood into action. This way, community strengthening is done from the ground up.
The King and Queen Máxima are the patrons of the Oranje Fonds.
