Queen Máxima, as honorary chair of the Méér Muziek in de Klas foundation, attended the recordings of the Christmas Music Gala 2025. The gala is filled with performances by children showcasing their talents in dance, music, visual arts, and fashion. The Largest School Band of the Netherlands also performs. This band is composed of schools participating in the School and Environment program and often affiliated with the Youth Education Fund. This fund promotes the availability of arts and cultural education for primary school children who have less exposure to it.
During the gala, Queen Máxima spoke about the importance of a broad cultural offering for children and youth. She also wished the children of the Largest School Band success with their performance. During the gala, the children share the stage with Simon Keizer, Hannah Mae, Karin Bloemen, and Ammar. Edsilia Rombley and Buddy Vedder present the gala. The Christmas Music Gala will be broadcast on Monday, December 23 at 8:35 PM on AVROTROS on NPO 1.
Queen Máxima is honorary chair of the Méér Muziek in de Klas foundation. Since 2015, the foundation has been committed to structural music education for all primary school children in the Netherlands and the Caribbean. The foundation has expanded its mission to make a broader cultural offering accessible to children and youth for whom this is not self-evident. The goal is to broaden the world of the student and contribute to the cognitive, social, and creative development of children. The foundation aligns with the School and Environment program of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
