Her Majesty Queen Máxima will open the 20th edition of the Beursvloer Tilburg at the King Willem II Stadium in Tilburg on Tuesday afternoon, October 7. During the Beursvloer, approximately 200 companies and social organizations from Midden-Brabant come into contact with each other to exchange products and services through closed auctions. The initiator is ContourdeTwern, an organization for social work and youth work in Tilburg and the surrounding area.
During the Beursvloer Tilburg, requests for help from social organizations are matched with offers from the business community: companies provide manpower, materials, and knowledge in exchange for a social counter-performance. In 2024, 576 matches were made and recorded by a notary. The economic value of all matches represents a significant amount each year, which can reach up to 1 million euros.
For companies, participating in the Beursvloer is an accessible way to engage in socially responsible entrepreneurship. Social organizations and associations also realize that they are not just the asking party but also have something to offer the business community. For example, in exchange for meeting locations, logo design, IT resources, leadership training, or printing, counter-performances are offered such as a performance by a choir association at a company Christmas party, free first aid support at a corporate event, or homemade cakes for celebrating staff.
Queen Máxima will speak with representatives of participating companies and social organizations, employees, and volunteers who contribute to the organization of the Beursvloer each year before the opening. After the opening, a tour of the Beursvloer will follow.
