His Majesty the King, Her Majesty Queen Máxima, and Her Royal Highness the Princess of Orange will be present at the National Celebration Amsterdam 750 years at the Museumplein on the evening of October 27. On that day, Amsterdam will be exactly 750 years old. The capital will celebrate the end of its jubilee year with a musical tribute from well-known Dutch artists to the city celebrating its birthday. As a ceremonial conclusion to the celebration, the King will symbolically light the light of Amsterdam after the performances.

Among others, Bente, Roxeanne Hazes, Yves Berendse, Remy van Kesteren, Karsu, Kris Kross Amsterdam, Maan, Willeke Alberti, and Wibi Soerjadi will provide a diverse program: from classical to pop, from Dutch-language to dance. They will perform in surprising duos, with one artist performing on the stage of a large dome tent at the Museumplein and another artist from an iconic location in the city.

Before the concert begins, the Royal Couple and the Princess of Orange will speak with several Amsterdammers who have done something special in the jubilee year. They will talk to amateur dancers from the project Heel Amsterdam Danst, youth footballers who participated in the street football tournament Cruyff Street League, Amsterdam scientists involved in the facial reconstruction of the oldest known Amsterdammer, and the designer of the Birthday Forest that was located on the A10 during the festival Op de Ring.

Among the invited audience are many Amsterdammers who have contributed as volunteers or initiators to activities in the jubilee year. The concert forms the festive closing chord of a year of hundreds of initiatives in the city, including major events such as the Opening Concert at the Ziggo Dome, the festival Op de Ring, and SAIL. The Royal Palace of Amsterdam was also themed this year around 750 years of Amsterdam, including the exhibition Artus Quellinus, sculptor of Amsterdam.
