Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and Prof. Mr. Pieter van Vollenhoven will attend the 70th edition of the National Tattoo in Rotterdam Ahoy on Friday evening, September 12.

After attending the first part of the National Tattoo, the Princess will speak with several organizers and staff of the Tattoo. She will also have discussions with members of the Foundation Merchant Navy Personnel 1940-1945. The program continues with a piece specially composed for the merchant navy They Held Course’, performed by the Royal Military Band ‘Johan Willem Friso’, the Royal Air Force Orchestra, and the Marine Band of the Royal Navy.

The National Tattoo is a show where the Dutch military bands and branches of the Dutch Armed Forces (Royal Navy, Royal Army, Royal Air Force, and Royal Marechaussee) present themselves to a wider audience. Additionally, the Dutch Police Orchestra, several foreign orchestras, and (inter)national soloists and dance groups perform. A fixed part of the program is expressing recognition and appreciation for those who are engaged or have been engaged in a public task to promote peace, security, and public order.
